Pay Back The Loan on Life…. With Interest….

Luke 12:47-48
47 And that slave who knew his master's will and didn't prepare himself or do it will be severely beaten. 48 But the one who did not know and did things deserving of blows will be beaten lightly. Much will be required of everyone who has been given much. And even more will be expected of the one who has been entrusted with more.=We are no longer the slaves in verse 48 who didn't know any better. We're Spirit filled brothers who are held accountable for our actions each and every day. That pretty girl that walks by and shows you attention and you do a little more in your mind than merely admire her beauty, the slip of the tongue in an emotionally lit conversation or argument, that little white lie you told to "protect" your friend from the truth…… STOP IT - Didn't we just agree we're NO LONGER living as the slave in verse 48. Sure, we slip at times, however, we can all (likely) agree we've been entrusted with much and much is to be expected.

The question is……….. What have we done with what we've been given UNTO HIS WILL? Are we active warriors pounding out His will in delight or are we timid, worried young school girls lost in a grim dark alley, or, worse, seeking Him one day a week and the rest of the time fulfilling our vain desires? I don't know about you, but, the only thing getting me up out of bed (which is where I should be right now by the way) each day is a drive to seek and execute His will - always. At the end of the day, and for that matter, when our earthly lives expire, nothing else matters, NOTHING! If we've left out the will of God from our lives, we just as well default on the loan known as life on earth because we are useless without it. I look forward to the journey so we can one day pay back the loan on life - WITH INTEREST - to the King who signed on the dotted line with His only begotten son.

Let's challenge each other on this, brothers, and be strong in the Lord so He will continue to entrust us with more and expect more so we can shout with joy on the mountaintop at the top of our lungs praise and glory to His name in confidence we did everything He asked of us. Also, our desire will be so infectious others will catch the bug and the very same drive will grow in them! YES! So that all will know Him! LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND.

Amen.

I attended Gene Cox's funeral yesterday. Mike Evans and I sat together behind the family. It was a very, very pleasant service. Gene was spoken very highly of. Afterwards, Mike and I discussed the fact that in the end, everything is boiled down into what can be said of you from others. When I'm gone, who will remember my great grandparents? I don't remember them now - but at least I know some stories. But who will know? And in 100 years if time lasts (yeah right...) who will remember me here? BUT WE ARE GIVEN THIS ABILITY TO MAKE AN ETERNAL DIFFERENCE. Investing in people is not forgotten by God - and we must always remember that for the saved... death is just a shadow. Relationships are eternal, so forget the gold and invest in people. Good word, Jesse.
